Adding a TV needs a TopReel account, so the TV stays connected to you on every phone you sign in on.
On the television, open the YouTube app.
Go to Settings, then Link with TV code.
The television shows a 12 digit code.
Type that code below, here in TopReel, not in the YouTube app on your phone. Give the television a name, and tap Add this TV.

What should we call you?
Your first name goes on your account button, so the app has something to call you. Shown only to you, on your own screen, and you can change it any time under Your account.
Sign in or create your account
Type your email and we send you a link. Tap the link and you are signed in. There is no password. Your account keeps your stream, your steering, your blocked channels and your plan on every phone and computer you use.
Leave it empty if nobody sent you. It only counts when the account is new.
How TopReel works
Watching
Press Next for another video. That is the whole of it. TopReel picks from channels that passed a quality check, so you are not sifting through bait to find something worth your time. You can also swipe up for the next video.
The reel
Under the video a slow strip of what is coming next drifts past on its own, so you can glance down and see what is ahead without tapping anything. Every card shows the title and the channel over the picture, never a thumbnail on its own. Touch it to hold it still, and tap any card to jump straight to that video. Anything you skip past counts as watched, so it will not come round again. It grows when a television is playing and shrinks when the phone is, and it can be switched off in Settings.
Steer
Say where you want your stream to go, in your own words. Something like more woodworking, or more calm and slower videos, or less true crime. It is a lasting change of direction, not an order for right now. Anything we already have moves to the top straight away and we keep looking for more over the following days. If what you ask for goes against something you told us before, Steer takes that back for you.
Tune
Tune is about the video on screen. It offers choices at several levels, from the whole subject down to the exact angle, so you can say more of this or none of that without leaving the video. The first choice is always more from this channel.
Mood
Tap Mood to lean your stream toward how you feel right now. Pick Calm, Curious, Hands on, Light, Out in the world, or Something longer. It is a quick lean, not a lasting change of direction like Steer, and it only shapes your own stream. It works straight away. Tap the same mood again, or Clear the mood, to take it off.
Custom
Tap Custom for a menu of choices about the channel you are watching. Block this Channel takes it out of your stream for good, not just the video you are watching. Add this Channel brings its new uploads into your stream. Either way you get a moment to undo it if you tap it by mistake, and either way it changes only your own stream: nobody else’s is touched.

Jumps past the ad at the start of a video.
Watching on a television
Tap TV to choose between this phone and any Roku on your network, and Remote to control the television without getting up.
